Girlfriends Talk Radio: Dabney talks openly with Tomeka Napper – ViJIEN Enterprises Corporation

Tomeka Napper

Join Dabney and your Social Media Girlfriends as we bring one of our own Social Media Girlfriends, Tomeka Napper on the air to talk about women empowerment, business development, entertainment and all things fabulous!

Known for her professionalism and straight-forward attitude, Tomeka’s mission in life is that everyone understands they matter and she uses this philosophy to be a service to others. She has risen out of adversity into her current role as the CEO of ViJIEN Enterprises Corporation, a strategic business design and management company for emerging businesses, nonprofits and entertainment professionals. Tomeka has served the corporate, higher education and non-profit/private sectors for over 16 years in the areas of administration, brand-marketing, procurement, creative content and project management. Tomeka was recently honored at National Voices for Equality, Education and Enlightenment – NVEEE – for her message of empowering and strength towards anti-bullying.

Tomeka Napper has a powerful story of overcoming horrific challenges by teaching herself to walk strong and stand proud. You will be amazed by the trials and tribulations this woman has overcome, yet still becoming the powerful beauty we can all admire. When you hear her story it will inspire you to truly believe that you too, can and will overcome difficulties in your life.

Placed in foster care at the age of 4 years old, Tomeka was sadly introduced to the never ending question of, “Where do I belong?” At the age of 11 years old she was transferred to another foster care home and it was there that she endured some of the most trying times in her young life. By the grace of God Tomeka was given a valuable lesson which made her realize that she matters and she carries this with her to this day. Finding peace in her adoption at age 13, she realized she had been given a second chance in life and her hope was restored. This led her on a journey to strength and empowerment which taught her the valuable lessons she would need to know as the leader she is today.

She is still learning, as we all are, but the most important and valuable lesson she has learned is, “I matter because – if I can’t GET that I matter then I can’t GET that YOU matter” and this is what guides her to be a service to others. We are honored that she is a Social Media Girlfriend because she is a true reflection of what our community is about. Listen to her on Girlfriends Talk Radio today!

Tomeka Napper was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She currently resides in Florida with her 11-year-old son. Find her at ViJIEN Enterprises, like her on Facebook or Tweet her @TomekaNapper. She is someone you are going to want to “tweet!”

Girlfriends Talk Radio: Dabney shares the beautiful Stephen Dimmick ~ The Daily Dimmick

Stephen-Dimmick-4

A beautiful and heartfelt show – Dabney talks candidly with Stephen Dimmick, the lovely host of Daily Dimmick. In this no-holds-barred interview, Stephen shares with us some of the deepest parts of his personal life and what brought him to become the bright light for himself and for all women he encounters.

Stephen Dimmick is an internationally acclaimed make-up artist. His talent can be seen from the runways of Paris for Valentino, Calvin Klein and Mark Jacobs to esteemed celebrities including Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Anna Kendrick, the Kardashians and many more. With his stylish fedora, Stephen loves transforming women into the goddess they hold within. He has an innate ability to help women see their lives through honest discussions about anything and everything while transforming them through the talent of his make-up brush. His work has been featured in Shape, Interview, InStyle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan and on the covers of Time and International editions of Vogue Magazine.

In this interview Stephen is wide open and shares some of the most intimate moments of his life, from the deepest heartache along with beautiful triumph and the ability to overcome anything at any age. An intuitiveness at the age of 10, Stephen knew there was something about him that was different and that he was here for a reason. Unfortunately, this difference and passionate understanding did not make it easy for him as a young boy, enduring the cruelest of bullying and being treated like an outcast.

Thankfully, there was a little voice inside, an inner force that gave him the strength to pull it all together and make him believe there was something bigger and brighter. It was this that kept him moving forward to learn he had a bigger voice, a voice that could help women everywhere.

Listen to the show to find out how Twitter changed his life. Stephen says, “Twitter, truly encapsulates change for me – It’s what gave me change, it’s what brought me here, it’s what introduced me to people who gave me a new direction – and the people that gave me a new direction were all of you out there.”

The Social Media Girlfriends LOVE the Daily Dimmick and we know you will too. Listen to him on Girlfriends Talk Radio today! We are certain you are not going to want to miss this powerful and enlightening interview.

Stephen Dimmick, an Australian native with the charming accent to show for, is a powerhouse in the world of beauty. He lives in Los Angeles with his partner and their cuddly, lovable four-legged creatures ~ Be sure to tweet him @DailyDimmick

OMG Insider ~ Keltie Colleen ~ You Have No Idea What Is Best For You

keltie Colleen

*for those who don’t know me “Swoon” is code-name for my fiancé. He is shy, and doesn’t love the internet like I do, so I call him by this code name. It is half creepy, and have super “James Bond” fun.

Act one: I was working in an office building, wearing big dorky glasses and writing in a colorful binder that I had bought at Target. I had bought that binder so that looked “ready” to be working in an office. The first thing I noticed was that people who work in offices do not buy cute, happy binders from Target. Instead, they have stacks of bleak looking papers piled on bleak looking desks, in bleak looking beige offices. Perhaps then, this is why working in an office is such a boring job. Perhaps, what they really need is a trip to Target.

Anyways, eventually Swoon walked in. He’s kinda hard to miss. He is 6 foot four and towers over everyone. He’s also a total babe. He was called up to my work floor by my boss, because the guys in the office had a kinship and anytime a “hot girl” arrived they would call each other to come check out the girl. Or so Swoon says. I don’t actually remember meeting him that day.

Act two: I was standing in the middle of a party in a barn type structure, at one of the nation’s biggest music festivals. I was hosting the event, and holding a microphone in one hand and a delicious margarita in the other. The perks of being a professional show-biz gal, drinking on the job was always encouraged.

Only, I wasn’t just standing in a barn. I was standing watching my ex-boyfriend, that I was very much still in love with make-out with his new girlfriend, who I very much didn’t care for. They were about 15 feet away from me. Watching my ex-boyfriend, that I was very much still in love with, make-out with his new girlfriend, who is very much all kinds of prettier than I was, wasn’t so awful. What was awful is that in between breaths, the new perfect girlfriend that most likely had cooler clothes to sleep in than I did in my entire closet, would look over towards me mid-kiss, open her eyes, and look directly into my eyes, just to make sure that I was, yes, in-fact watching her make out with the boy I was still very much in love with. And, yes, in fact I was watching.

After fighting back tears, watching the epic make-out that was not mine, and drinking 6 more margaritas, I met Swoon. He was there in all his tall, good guy glory. He chatted about music and Texas. Or so he says. I don’t actually remember meeting him then either.

Act Three: I had fallen madly in love with the idea of falling madly in love with a photographer. It’s very easy to fall in love with the idea of falling in love with a photographer, because photographers have excellent websites. As someone who spends large amounts of time on the internet, I understand what websites really matter. A photographer’s website is usually sexy, well laid out and features pictures of really good looking people that make you feel really inadequate. This means that you find yourself falling more in love the photographer who will never love you back because you are not 6 feet tall and have a face full of eyebrows and cheekbones. Photographer’s websites also have one super sly, sexy photo of said photographer and on the last page, under contact, where their email is just begging you to send them a late night photo of yourself and your phone number, and an invitation to fall in love.

So yes, I was in love with the idea of being in love with a photographer.

Someone I knew from the office building, Target binder sessions in Act 2, invited me to Swoon’s birthday party. Even though we had apparently met a few times, I had no idea who he was and so I didn’t care much for attending his birthday party. I did however spend 3 hours on my hair, switch outfits 5 times and beg my friend to be my wingman for this party, because there was a small chance that the hot photographer with the epic website would be at the party.

When my wingman and I arrived at the party, the room was full. Coming towards me with two girls holding him up under each 6 foot arm was Swoon. He was wearing a green shirt. He was drunk. I had no idea who he was. I assumed he was the birthday boy because he was yelling, “It’s my birthday!” He came over and gave me a huge, drunken sailor hug. Next, he eloquently apologized that on Monday morning I was going to be fired from my job. He talked on and on about how excited he was that I had made it to the party, and I continued to look around for hot photographer. Eventually, Swoon and his underarm ladies moved on to a new group of friends, and I sat in the corner pathetically staring at the door, salivating for a taste of what I really wanted.

Hot photographer, he never showed that night.

But what did happen was the next day – Swoon contacted me and asked me out. This time I remembered who he was.

This proves to me, and should prove to you that the universe has a magical plan for all of us. The cosmic part about it, is that we never really get to see the whole story. We meddle so much in the small stuff and try too hard to change the course, but really, it isn’t up to us. We don’t get to know the plan. The person that you are crushing on so hard, the one that won’t give you the time of day isn’t the end of your heart, but perhaps, a means to the end of your journey. I am the girl who picked baby bangs and the same hair color as ginger spice in high school. I am the girl who thought it might be a good idea to use a barbed wire fence to stop my motorbike instead of say, the brakes, when I was a kid. I tried to make everyone but Swoon love me, but the Universe had a different plan for my heart. Last winter Swoon asked me to marry him, and this summer I become Mrs. Swoon.

This reminds me that perhaps the things I pick for myself are not always what might actually be best for me? Trust the universe. It has your back.
